事情是這樣的 小弟目前是一年經驗的H/W QA
4 {1 b9 R3 s+ {! Z之前公司有個FAE離職 剛好小弟我有跟他那組的幾個RD合作過
$ B, c) j" h2 w, x0 _8 O  I' ]所以之間都不錯 他們就問我有沒有想要來接FAE的位子
, H' [2 i; ~$ x1 g3 W, Z
4 ^$ \% l% h/ H( I' U$ ]* [! j他們老闆竟然也說 ok  內轉想來就來壓 我一定說ok的 只要他老闆同意讓他來
雖然心裡當然是想 但是FAE是在做什麼我根本不知道
0 a' U4 |6 z8 u+ v6 Y只知道要去客戶那邊被定(??  因為小弟只是私立後段的學士而已

去那邊不就是死路一條!  還是說可以過去那邊邊做邊學

AE工作內容：
1.schematic review and design
* g, g# x7 H  k6 `0 w原廠會提供參考線路及檢查要點，這參考線路通常都是由AE來設計，除此之外客戶
也會修改參考線路，所以還要針對客戶修改的線路加以檢查。
2.layout review
2 l0 G( c. ?; q0 L原廠也會提供參考的layout及檢查的要點，例如一些高速的匯流排及電源走線
都要特別注意，常常會影響晶片的性能。
5 A* b4 t* F( V$ \% A3.Firmware/Software/Driver development
) j# z0 z6 L7 S* G7 n現在的IC公司基本上也要提供軟韌體的開發範例，這些範例也是由AE所開發出來的。

教育訓練，原廠AE很多機會對代理商及客戶進行產品訓練及展示。有些時候AE也會與
sales/marketing配合到客戶端去推銷產品。

! h1 n5 X' k: }2 t$ [1 SIC廠會有許多的文件需要撰寫，包含datasheet，使用手冊...等，這些文件也是由AE

AE所需的技能：
1.學習能力
0 c' \5 Q4 v6 {! E+ s# U根據不同的客戶需求，常常需要開發各種不同的應用，因此常常需要學習新的領域。
快速的學習能力會是很重要的一個因素。
2.溝通能力
; L# Q; G( n- U) Z2 e不同於R&D，AE有很多的時間是在與別人溝通。對內要與sales, marketing, PM, R&D等
9 A8 O% R' R8 Q* `溝通，對外要與客戶的R&D, PM或是合作廠商及代理商等溝通。良好的溝通能力會讓你的
工作事半功倍。

無論是台灣或是外國的IC廠商，英語能力都是不可或缺的必備能力。無論是聽說讀寫都
會常常使用到。不需要文辭優美文法正確，只要敢說敢講就可。

AE是第一線的作戰人員，常常有機會會受到客戶或是內部的合理或是不合理責難。這時候
良好的EQ會是很重要的一個因素。此外不同於R&D，很多案子常常執行到一半就取消，會
4 w4 k6 F+ w6 h# a( X( L常常有做白工的狀況，適時的調適自己的心情也是很重要的。
5.多工及管理能力
- t! l! P$ D9 i: _' k通常一個AE同時會要支援數個案子，所以如何有效的管理手上的案子，依照重要性來分配
: x- a* o/ B8 D& f: B+ x時間及資源也是很重要的。

AE的背景與出路：
背景：
目前觀察到的普遍來說AE的資歷都是比較淺的，很多同事都是在系統廠或是IC廠工作兩到
9 }" U& F+ L7 e: l5 m: f- i三年後轉職過來。如果是國外更是常常看到大學剛畢業就去做AE。以AE的工作性質還蠻適
合新人來試試看。可以了解IC產業的運作模式，及學習到許多新的知識。
$ c* q$ y1 X3 j# N' h出路：
; P* e- k# G% WAE的出路很廣，想往技術方面發展可以轉往系統廠或IC廠做software/hardware的R&D，想
: X; Q( W6 k) E7 z往行銷方面發展也可以轉去做sales/marketing，想往管理方面發展也可以轉去做PM。而且
- y' l3 j$ a, F0 P' u% DAE相對來說認識的人面也會比廣，只要做的好轉職會很容易。
% C1 A& I5 W0 I! O8 m) {+ U  s薪水：
一般來說AE的薪水在IC廠內是比較低的，一般來說外商的職缺薪水排名會如下：

不過相對來說外商的AE進入難度也是這些職缺裡面最低的。

( B! A' t- W) Y3 [那時大學4年肄業 對於本科電子沒興趣 所以毅然決然的就去當兵了

3 K  F, A) Z; f, N5 X1 g1 n當兵前等到入伍的前兩個月 去家父任職的建築公司打工

每天8點前到工地 然後就是帶客戶看屋 驗屋 然後記錄需要改進

2 v7 q; g. A) @0 S- g$ N$ h或是客戶要求的事項 總之就像是工頭啦

+ Q4 e% k4 I6 `6 E; c# o雖然日曬雨林的 有時候中飯時間還會被屋主Call回去看屋

錄取這間公司也算是蠻有趣的一個過程

當初有兩間公司開了Offer給我 一個是某認證實驗室 另一個就是這間House

! H& f* |2 Y+ b4 G在面試這間公司的時候 沒考試 就只是跟主管聊天而已

聊的內容不外乎 學歷啦 動機啦 家庭背景 和一些基本專業知識

專業知識也只問了一個Reset的問題 大概是我答的很快吧

9 p( ~7 C1 d8 y大頭很快的就給了口頭Offer 也就結束這個愉快的面試

接下來就是回家等通知嚕!!!!

FAE做什麼? 我公司大概就是對內 畫電路 對電路 Layout 焊接 和軟韌體溝通及測試

對外的話就是去客戶那邊協助Debug 規畫硬體設計 以及通過相關認證

還有就是個人負責項目 主要就這3大類 總之就是打雜的

$ k; b/ ^* C) h9 q* D% b我剛進公司的第一年真的就是打雜的 前輩做什麼就跟著做

! z7 T$ W* M$ d$ }在旁邊多看多問 或是幫忙做 這樣會上手的很快

FAE不比一般RD只要把Code寫出來就好 會說話會溝通很重要

( B" D. I( v4 n4 B. j由於有時候要幫忙Handle RD寫不出來時去跟客戶協調

總要想個光明正大的理由讓客戶覺得有在做只是因為...而拖延了

有時候又要在Sales和RD中間取得平衡 讓雙方都可以接受

因此會交際和實力一樣重要

  B# C$ W8 j0 ?7 V, ~有實力不會交際的FAE 只會被交付一些不重要的打雜工作

- ?, v+ _* H. H# c, U或是很賽客戶很刁的案子 要不就是負責的全是一些不重要的產品

$ R: P7 H) s; D因此想步入FAE的 先想想自己的交際能力如何 喇賽功力強不強

再來才是考慮自己的專業能力夠不夠

FAE需要的專業?

FAE可以說是最不需要也最需要的工作
3 g$ B( A& D" O+ C( q# f" @$ n
零件的工作原理! 如何用最小最便宜的料件去兜成你所需要的電路

看的懂SPEC 可以減少很多設計和Debug的時間

專業知識夠的 可以用最少的時間用最適合的料件

/ e4 I9 U6 x- V3 `# ^專業不夠的用以前的電路去兜 或是用最常見的也都是可以

差別只是在時間和成本 你的老闆重不重視就要看命了!!!

. I2 g- E/ Y+ y; q* u; J! `嘴砲技能點滿的 只要東西會動都是可以交差的

所以最需要的專業 應該是嘴砲技能...XD

FAE的發展

由於 FAE接觸的層面很廣 能學到的東西相對的非常多

看自己要不要去更精進 英文能力好的 看的懂Code的

加上人面廣要Sample時能很快的入手需求料件

以上三點是最主要的發展方向

) {3 J3 G& c; ]) s- E0 I若是腦經靈活 常常能想出不一樣的方法來解決問題 這點更是重要
/ o+ {' m( K9 p# l, a5 U$ n0 y& f
& ]0 t2 Q; N  p' j* P' [因為有時候RD寫Code只會照著原本Rule來寫
2 R* V  }& f8 Q' F
若是能適時的提點RD 或是在硬體上Cover RD

2 t! j( c1 s! f% v對於整體的工作效率會有很大的幫助 一點小小的淺見
