Jitter can be defined as the deviations in a clock’s output transition
9 ?0 ]6 }% l* O- |/ H& afrom their ideal positions. The deviation can either be leading or
# ~2 t9 J: R7 x, H: a ylagging the ideal position. Jitter is usually specified in ± pico seconds.3 H! l5 Y3 o" t. _
Jitter measurements can be classified into three categories:
" j! ^# s1 M2 c- u6 [7 f) Icycle-to-cycle jitter, period jitter, and long-term jitter. All jitter measurements* u8 \# q `8 g8 n
are at a specified voltage, usually Vcc/2 or 1.5V.
