Responsibilities: ' t- P* U1 ~8 k6 D8 B
The imaging scientist will be responsible for developing architectures, algorithms, and implementation details for new advanced pixels. ( Z; c) q0 r+ b4 l
\/ v1 N* ]! {4 x* W1 U k0 N1. Design and development of image processing algorithms such as demosaicing, denoising, edge-enhancement, bad pixel correction, high dynamic range imaging, adaptive tonal mapping, AE, AWB, AF, still/video image stabilization and other scene analysis based algorithms.
9 M* ~3 M! R, V- w" q9 z$ K8 l2 e2. Work with an ASIC, CMOS process technology, advanced pixel design teams for optimal implementation. 6 F6 L0 f$ T. ]" K# O8 a' d
3. Design in machine vision such as statistical pattern classification, neural networking, scene analysis, facial recognition algorithms , m, N1 {% b8 e+ G0 z
4. Perform system modeling of camera pipeline components, including imagers and digital image processing modules.
: l4 u! E1 [/ F( ]8 i3 _5. Perform signal analysis to evaluate quality of image processing algorithms and systems; Perform analysis and characterization of imaging sensors. ! m- }4 A9 D& Z2 O- J! p

1. Ph.D. in Imaging Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Vision, or related fields
" t" D- h) x+ }7 Z9 \. n2. In-depth knowledge of camera image processing pipeline / o1 l$ Q2 p7 X& R8 q8 R
3. Proficiency in C, C++ and / or Matlab coding to design and run simulations for complex image pipeline
% @& Z+ v; o& ?) d F k+ ~4. Background in image processing in related industries, such as digital still camera or surveillance camera is a plus 0 ?. E0 x3 S$ n) A0 B: l) h
5. Knowledge of hardware realization of the algorithms is a big plus 5 N, G) T6 h. f
6. Team player with good communication and presentation skills. 6 ?$ L- S' C$ ~' Y$ U7 M$ C
