自從2003年4月,瑞薩由日立半導體事業部和三菱電機半導體事業部合併組建開始,就一直居全球半導體廠商排名前列。在當年由IC Insights公佈的排名榜中,它僅次於英代爾和三星電子,位居全球第三。不過,自那時起,瑞薩的排名就始終處於下跌狀態。2004年,瑞薩的全球排名居第五位,2005年滑落至第七位。而按照IC Insights剛剛公佈的2006上半年全球半導體廠商排行表,瑞薩的排名更是降到了第八位。
