Three-axis teslameter with integrated Hall probe free from the planar Hall effect
  H2 K. r, f) R* m. w* l1 YAbstract – The first commercially available teslameter with a
! Q7 S0 q& m6 afully integrated 3-axis Hall probe is described. The Hall probe
0 O: w: j, C5 Z: ~4 a: Q, Fchip contains horizontal and vertical Hall elements, analogue
9 [, L4 b  D6 z2 W6 `8 felectronics, and a synchronisation circuit. A horizontal Hall
+ S* V$ A1 S- c; G) L5 Z& nelement measures the perpendicular component, and two vertical
1 _8 F1 W0 @4 n% ^- k" ?8 LHall devices measure the two in-plane components of a magnetic
$ O2 ]5 J- v4 m# K- K! O+ |; Ufield. Current spinning in the Hall devices cancels offset, 1/f
! Z3 B& I/ I0 cnoise, and the planar Hall voltage. The analogue electronic
module of the teslameter cancels the residual offset and
4 R2 L' x7 V/ g/ lcompensates temperature dependence and non-linearity of the
6 R( d2 Q2 s8 ?- q9 Q. ~# O' VHall voltages. The digital module provides A/D conversion and
communication to a computer.
