Setting Up Communication With a Viewer

, R& C% r6 G! _' r! [the two applications is set up automatically. If you open a viewer after invoking Calibre
, Y. q8 j: r; k# Z1 g4 LInteractive, you can set up communication between the two tools through IPC sockets.
, q$ x( y5 c* ^# pBy default, Calibre seeks socket 8192, and if that socket is available, connection is automatic.3 N7 g" B D) v! d" S- d
You can change the socket address used by following this procedure:
9 N- |1 R( z2 }1. Open the viewer.7 f# y3 m$ j2 P0 e! X, F, w% S
2. Activate a socket following the instructions described in the user manual for the layout viewer you have opened.
' z) R: _. ^4 e7 [) V$ |8 R+ ^) i3. In Calibre Interactive, choose Setup > Layout Viewer…% r Z# g, k5 m, \1 ^6 k& ?9 C
4. Enter the socket number that you activated in the viewer.
