事情是這樣的 小弟目前是一年經驗的H/W QA
之前公司有個FAE離職 剛好小弟我有跟他那組的幾個RD合作過
所以之間都不錯 他們就問我有沒有想要來接FAE的位子

& F2 \! u& ~% Q( a5 F他們老闆竟然也說 ok  內轉想來就來壓 我一定說ok的 只要他老闆同意讓他來
雖然心裡當然是想 但是FAE是在做什麼我根本不知道
只知道要去客戶那邊被定(??  因為小弟只是私立後段的學士而已

5 ]% b4 d& Y5 A% O% D0 I要學歷沒學歷 要專業沒專業 英文也是不太行
去那邊不就是死路一條!  還是說可以過去那邊邊做邊學

AE工作內容：
1.schematic review and design
, ^) W# J. }3 S! t! M原廠會提供參考線路及檢查要點，這參考線路通常都是由AE來設計，除此之外客戶
也會修改參考線路，所以還要針對客戶修改的線路加以檢查。
& w4 F- ^5 J1 c- N$ Y* w0 Z# v' Y2.layout review
原廠也會提供參考的layout及檢查的要點，例如一些高速的匯流排及電源走線
都要特別注意，常常會影響晶片的性能。
3.Firmware/Software/Driver development
: t. p3 V* d' `5 A現在的IC公司基本上也要提供軟韌體的開發範例，這些範例也是由AE所開發出來的。
4.Training
教育訓練，原廠AE很多機會對代理商及客戶進行產品訓練及展示。有些時候AE也會與
sales/marketing配合到客戶端去推銷產品。

- o- Q( i% u5 J$ w# ~% m( aIC廠會有許多的文件需要撰寫，包含datasheet，使用手冊...等，這些文件也是由AE

AE所需的技能：

: Z8 }5 R! K# s根據不同的客戶需求，常常需要開發各種不同的應用，因此常常需要學習新的領域。
* ^! O9 o+ p3 B快速的學習能力會是很重要的一個因素。
% L6 Y( {# D! f0 C/ k- t3 J8 r8 ~: E2.溝通能力
# r2 _9 q2 a% o; N) W不同於R&D，AE有很多的時間是在與別人溝通。對內要與sales, marketing, PM, R&D等
- _; e* f7 f8 ^% O溝通，對外要與客戶的R&D, PM或是合作廠商及代理商等溝通。良好的溝通能力會讓你的
工作事半功倍。
: f$ a- t0 o, r, A) I2 b3.語言能力
: G0 m5 M! Z6 n, m2 k無論是台灣或是外國的IC廠商，英語能力都是不可或缺的必備能力。無論是聽說讀寫都
會常常使用到。不需要文辭優美文法正確，只要敢說敢講就可。
4.EQ能力
AE是第一線的作戰人員，常常有機會會受到客戶或是內部的合理或是不合理責難。這時候
, Q3 X. l. n+ [0 O1 R8 G  P良好的EQ會是很重要的一個因素。此外不同於R&D，很多案子常常執行到一半就取消，會
9 o: k/ m- ]9 ~" h常常有做白工的狀況，適時的調適自己的心情也是很重要的。
5.多工及管理能力
通常一個AE同時會要支援數個案子，所以如何有效的管理手上的案子，依照重要性來分配
時間及資源也是很重要的。

AE的背景與出路：

目前觀察到的普遍來說AE的資歷都是比較淺的，很多同事都是在系統廠或是IC廠工作兩到
5 B8 _1 E& S6 W9 W8 Y4 h6 r4 |5 K三年後轉職過來。如果是國外更是常常看到大學剛畢業就去做AE。以AE的工作性質還蠻適
合新人來試試看。可以了解IC產業的運作模式，及學習到許多新的知識。
出路：
AE的出路很廣，想往技術方面發展可以轉往系統廠或IC廠做software/hardware的R&D，想
: `3 H! V% E) C; V# f% g8 c往行銷方面發展也可以轉去做sales/marketing，想往管理方面發展也可以轉去做PM。而且
" {. N% k7 F( T! D6 x  RAE相對來說認識的人面也會比廣，只要做的好轉職會很容易。
$ \" r- f! K0 b5 N薪水：
4 n' O& _2 h! h7 F一般來說AE的薪水在IC廠內是比較低的，一般來說外商的職缺薪水排名會如下：
sales > marketing >= FAE > AE
不過相對來說外商的AE進入難度也是這些職缺裡面最低的。

以上是一般IC廠的AE資訊，系統廠的AE又會有不同的角色及工作內容，有待有經驗者分享

分享一下工作正準備邁入第4年的 FAE工作心得
當初怎麼進來的? 我自己也很納悶 也感到很幸運

那時大學4年肄業 對於本科電子沒興趣 所以毅然決然的就去當兵了

當兵前等到入伍的前兩個月 去家父任職的建築公司打工

每天8點前到工地 然後就是帶客戶看屋 驗屋 然後記錄需要改進

或是客戶要求的事項 總之就像是工頭啦

雖然日曬雨林的 有時候中飯時間還會被屋主Call回去看屋

5 ?+ Y+ D5 X, g4 _5 F: @3 f但是由於會接觸到各式各樣的人 其實也算收穫頗多

聊的內容不外乎 學歷啦 動機啦 家庭背景 和一些基本專業知識

1 T5 P% [  \" P- J專業知識也只問了一個Reset的問題 大概是我答的很快吧

大頭很快的就給了口頭Offer 也就結束這個愉快的面試

接下來就是回家等通知嚕!!!!

過了約兩個星期錄取通知寄來了 我就這樣開始了工程師的職涯

FAE做什麼? 我公司大概就是對內 畫電路 對電路 Layout 焊接 和軟韌體溝通及測試

對外的話就是去客戶那邊協助Debug 規畫硬體設計 以及通過相關認證

在旁邊多看多問 或是幫忙做 這樣會上手的很快

: q$ u$ o6 p) S( \5 Q4 WFAE不比一般RD只要把Code寫出來就好 會說話會溝通很重要

& C% |  V. j# _6 n總要想個光明正大的理由讓客戶覺得有在做只是因為...而拖延了

因此會交際和實力一樣重要

有實力不會交際的FAE 只會被交付一些不重要的打雜工作

或是很賽客戶很刁的案子 要不就是負責的全是一些不重要的產品

" Z' r5 J/ _( p3 h& e因此想步入FAE的 先想想自己的交際能力如何 喇賽功力強不強

FAE需要的專業?

9 n+ C! c) Q/ c0 G9 S6 g8 }5 D零件的工作原理! 如何用最小最便宜的料件去兜成你所需要的電路

  }! w( [# Y, K) H看的懂SPEC 可以減少很多設計和Debug的時間
2 t; V3 s/ D- C2 _2 ^( O7 b
專業知識夠的 可以用最少的時間用最適合的料件

/ _1 r+ G0 ]" w' U7 P' t專業不夠的用以前的電路去兜 或是用最常見的也都是可以

差別只是在時間和成本 你的老闆重不重視就要看命了!!!

嘴砲技能點滿的 只要東西會動都是可以交差的

所以最需要的專業 應該是嘴砲技能...XD

看自己要不要去更精進 英文能力好的 看的懂Code的

% Z+ ?. r8 ~2 X1 ]以上三點是最主要的發展方向

$ D' ]) D5 Y% {% _. M4 t4 b若是腦經靈活 常常能想出不一樣的方法來解決問題 這點更是重要
+ e+ U& q2 l2 N
6 y" I+ K) j# x, s- L# |( ?" e& D因為有時候RD寫Code只會照著原本Rule來寫

: @* T4 I& e1 |若是能適時的提點RD 或是在硬體上Cover RD
