事情是這樣的 小弟目前是一年經驗的H/W QA
之前公司有個FAE離職 剛好小弟我有跟他那組的幾個RD合作過
所以之間都不錯 他們就問我有沒有想要來接FAE的位子

他們老闆竟然也說 ok  內轉想來就來壓 我一定說ok的 只要他老闆同意讓他來
雖然心裡當然是想 但是FAE是在做什麼我根本不知道

要學歷沒學歷 要專業沒專業 英文也是不太行

原廠會提供參考線路及檢查要點，這參考線路通常都是由AE來設計，除此之外客戶
  }, q4 `1 k: I" T5 e" y3 j. m也會修改參考線路，所以還要針對客戶修改的線路加以檢查。
2.layout review
原廠也會提供參考的layout及檢查的要點，例如一些高速的匯流排及電源走線
都要特別注意，常常會影響晶片的性能。
3.Firmware/Software/Driver development
/ }! m& Z% @' r& F1 _7 z) X2 Y3 R現在的IC公司基本上也要提供軟韌體的開發範例，這些範例也是由AE所開發出來的。
8 H- d. T  @0 m4.Training
教育訓練，原廠AE很多機會對代理商及客戶進行產品訓練及展示。有些時候AE也會與
3 U1 N3 p3 h% a9 ?+ N3 Gsales/marketing配合到客戶端去推銷產品。
5.Documentation
IC廠會有許多的文件需要撰寫，包含datasheet，使用手冊...等，這些文件也是由AE
所提供出來的。此外也很多機會在一些雜誌及報紙上發表技術文章。

AE所需的技能：

4 l4 _2 f. ?  p; O3 R根據不同的客戶需求，常常需要開發各種不同的應用，因此常常需要學習新的領域。
快速的學習能力會是很重要的一個因素。
  P& X8 f) @5 |" ~. F0 _2.溝通能力
不同於R&D，AE有很多的時間是在與別人溝通。對內要與sales, marketing, PM, R&D等
+ ]0 j# V1 p2 |" [5 ^, O溝通，對外要與客戶的R&D, PM或是合作廠商及代理商等溝通。良好的溝通能力會讓你的
工作事半功倍。
3.語言能力
/ D" J- n- A' K# s; T9 z無論是台灣或是外國的IC廠商，英語能力都是不可或缺的必備能力。無論是聽說讀寫都
; u* i9 X3 {; B8 N: b% l4 p% z會常常使用到。不需要文辭優美文法正確，只要敢說敢講就可。
4.EQ能力
AE是第一線的作戰人員，常常有機會會受到客戶或是內部的合理或是不合理責難。這時候
; o& g& t& C$ D- {! S2 G! B% B' o良好的EQ會是很重要的一個因素。此外不同於R&D，很多案子常常執行到一半就取消，會
常常有做白工的狀況，適時的調適自己的心情也是很重要的。
5.多工及管理能力
, u+ l! s# a3 k通常一個AE同時會要支援數個案子，所以如何有效的管理手上的案子，依照重要性來分配
時間及資源也是很重要的。

AE的背景與出路：
背景：
7 D' O& v; v. r3 q1 ~' I目前觀察到的普遍來說AE的資歷都是比較淺的，很多同事都是在系統廠或是IC廠工作兩到
三年後轉職過來。如果是國外更是常常看到大學剛畢業就去做AE。以AE的工作性質還蠻適
( y! e: N7 W! ~合新人來試試看。可以了解IC產業的運作模式，及學習到許多新的知識。
出路：
' Z& ?7 U* L. o7 qAE的出路很廣，想往技術方面發展可以轉往系統廠或IC廠做software/hardware的R&D，想
  D/ u( [; `! p5 Q+ C1 |往行銷方面發展也可以轉去做sales/marketing，想往管理方面發展也可以轉去做PM。而且
AE相對來說認識的人面也會比廣，只要做的好轉職會很容易。
薪水：
. N6 ^* D/ m8 A! d5 S% U6 M一般來說AE的薪水在IC廠內是比較低的，一般來說外商的職缺薪水排名會如下：

8 N4 j6 K9 v) D7 C, z+ Z6 w" y7 l' Z不過相對來說外商的AE進入難度也是這些職缺裡面最低的。

以上是一般IC廠的AE資訊，系統廠的AE又會有不同的角色及工作內容，有待有經驗者分享

* T+ R0 N5 s; B( `2 }那時大學4年肄業 對於本科電子沒興趣 所以毅然決然的就去當兵了

當兵前等到入伍的前兩個月 去家父任職的建築公司打工

每天8點前到工地 然後就是帶客戶看屋 驗屋 然後記錄需要改進

; q, o, n( M. u$ H* o9 ]) ?或是客戶要求的事項 總之就像是工頭啦

雖然日曬雨林的 有時候中飯時間還會被屋主Call回去看屋

但是由於會接觸到各式各樣的人 其實也算收穫頗多

聊的內容不外乎 學歷啦 動機啦 家庭背景 和一些基本專業知識

大頭很快的就給了口頭Offer 也就結束這個愉快的面試

FAE做什麼? 我公司大概就是對內 畫電路 對電路 Layout 焊接 和軟韌體溝通及測試

還有就是個人負責項目 主要就這3大類 總之就是打雜的

FAE不比一般RD只要把Code寫出來就好 會說話會溝通很重要

% H+ g/ R$ A- R. O; `8 M總要想個光明正大的理由讓客戶覺得有在做只是因為...而拖延了

有時候又要在Sales和RD中間取得平衡 讓雙方都可以接受

因此會交際和實力一樣重要

% ~. J+ x; U" Q! A8 p5 r* M% ^有實力不會交際的FAE 只會被交付一些不重要的打雜工作

因此想步入FAE的 先想想自己的交際能力如何 喇賽功力強不強

FAE需要的專業?

零件的工作原理! 如何用最小最便宜的料件去兜成你所需要的電路

看的懂SPEC 可以減少很多設計和Debug的時間

專業知識夠的 可以用最少的時間用最適合的料件

專業不夠的用以前的電路去兜 或是用最常見的也都是可以

差別只是在時間和成本 你的老闆重不重視就要看命了!!!

嘴砲技能點滿的 只要東西會動都是可以交差的

由於 FAE接觸的層面很廣 能學到的東西相對的非常多

, @% w7 O% u2 y% e! U+ ?' p看自己要不要去更精進 英文能力好的 看的懂Code的

以上三點是最主要的發展方向

若是腦經靈活 常常能想出不一樣的方法來解決問題 這點更是重要

若是能適時的提點RD 或是在硬體上Cover RD
