加拿大渥太華公民報(Ottawa Citizen)10月13日報導，加商Emerging Memory Technologies Inc. (EMT)最近將其辦公處所公司名牌改掛「台積電公司」(Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp.，TSMC)名牌，公司主要業務為為我商台積電設計客戶導向之記憶晶片。

4 C8 ]' m% T7 T( d: |一、台積電係全球最大之應顧客要求製作晶片(made-to-order chips)公司，該晶片用於通訊、電腦及手機的主要記憶體，今(2007)年營收下降2%，但市場預期明年對晶片製造將需求大增，台積電因而營收將成長15%，持續占有製作客戶導向型晶片全球市場之占有率50%以上。此次係第1次與加商合作。) f2 h4 I8 k& r1 h2 q

二、EMT公司聲稱與台積電簽有不公開協定，不願透露與台積電交易情形。有鑑於甫成立於2004年的EMT人才濟濟，透過藉助該公司優越的晶片設計能力，預料有助於台積電之市場拓展規劃，亦即不只是目前全球最大晶片製造工廠，未來亦將在晶片設計服務領域占有領先地位。
